Frequently asked questions
How is the aguinaldo calculated in Mexico?
The LFT (art. 87) sets a minimum of 15 days of salary per full year. If you worked less than a year, it is proportional: (daily salary × 15 ÷ 365) × days worked.
When must the aguinaldo be paid?
Before December 20 each year. Many employers pay it in one installment; others split it (November and December).
Is the aguinaldo taxed?
It may be subject to income tax, with an exemption of up to 30 UMAs. This calculator shows the gross amount, before taxes and deductions.
