Validate a Chilean RUT or compute its check digit with the official modulo 11 algorithm.

Frequently asked questions

How is the RUT check digit computed?

Digits are multiplied right-to-left by the repeating series 2-3-4-5-6-7, summed, divided by 11 and subtracted from 11: 11โ†’0, 10โ†’K.

What does a K digit mean?

It is the value 10 of modulo 11, represented by the letter K. It is as valid as any number.

Does the dots-and-dash format matter?

Not for the computation: you can write 12.345.678-5 or 123456785. This tool accepts both.
