How it works

How it works: we run Tesseract.js, the open-source OCR engine, right in your browser. The image is processed locally pixel by pixel and the recognized text appears below ready to copy. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to any server?

No. Tesseract.js runs entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

What image quality do I need?

The sharper and straighter the photo, the better the result. Screenshots and scanned documents work very well; blurry or tilted photos may produce errors.

Does it recognize Spanish text?

Yes. It uses the Spanish model by default, including accents and ñ. You can switch to English if the document is in that language.

Does it work with handwriting?

Not well: OCR is optimized for printed or digital text. Handwriting usually gives poor results.
